Bubble, Hype and Infinity (Intro)
Recently confronted with some technical challenges and financial decisions, I ran into some terms, in particular, "bubble," "hype," and "infinity," that may sound like one-off events, at the outset, rather far-reaching, more than you may think. There are commonalities between them. It can be said that they are the result of imagination.
Indeed, they are detached from reality; when confronted with it, time constraint acts on them like gravity.
Some of these terms express an idea of unjustified euphoria, and others are defined as limitless, but all of them will be confronted sooner or later by another constraint: our physical world.
These three terms are constantly introduced when discussing economic crises, such as the dot-com bubble, and technological innovations, such as the AI hype or the promise of an unlimited supply of energy. Not only that, these three terms are inextricably intertwined in some ways. To create a bubble, you must hype, both are fed by a supposed perpetual momentum.
In three articles, I will explore these three terms with meaningful examples or models.
